Review on πŸ“¦ Economical Postal Scales (SC36) by LW Measurements, LLC in Black, Small by Brian Potter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best deal on 36 lb scales accurate to 0.1 ounces

I bought this before any reviews were posted. At $13 (Prime) it was the best deal I found and risked it if it wasn't junk. My main reason for buying it was to weigh 12 ounces or less tennis racquets, so an accuracy of 0.1 ounces / 2 g was good for the 36 lb weight limit. To test accuracy I used four 2.5lb plate weights for a total of 10lb and the scale read 9lb 15.5oz since each plate weight is not exactly 2.5lb. If you weigh each slab individually, they add up to about 0.7 ounces, so there is a 0.2 ounce difference, I would say pretty good. especially for $13! I also weighed my iPhone 4s at 138 grams, while Apple's specs say 137 grams. The scale has a tare function and a hold button for large items that block the view of the display. The units can be changed in 5 modes: grams, kg, pounds, ounces, pounds and ounces. When an item is on the scale, the display glows blue, which is nice in low light. Deleting an item turns off the highlighting. The numbers are large, 15mm high. The scale will turn off automatically after a few minutes if it doesn't detect any change in usage. The weighing pan is made of plastic and has a hinged lid. The pad can be removed from the metal pressure plate, if you don't want to use it. If you lift the cover of the notebook, you will find a printed card with a table of US postal rates. It shows a 1st class fare of $0.44 that was valid until January 22, 2012, so the scale I received is over a year old. Dimensions of the scale: The scale is packed in a printed box, which is then placed in a regular cardboard box and finally in a Revain packaging box. The plain middle box actually had a 2 inch round sticker that said 'Sold as 1 item, do not open' which has to tell Revain not to open the box. at least a year. The scales are packed in a printed box, which is then placed in a regular cardboard box and finally in a Revain packing box.
