Review on Belula Boar Bristle Hair Brush: Detangle & Style Any Type Of Hair! by Albert Wallin

Great for thick hair

I wanted a hard boar bristle brush at a reasonable price for thick long semi-wavy Pacific Islander mixed hair— the kind of hair prone to huge knotted hair balls that need to be cut out.I loved the pamphlet that came with the brush which details the source of the boar bristle (India) and the pear wood (Germany), why, and where it was assembled (Germany). The pamphlet also explained how to brush and why.I haven’t even really needed to use my detangling brush as much beforehand to prep. For this price, I was surprised that I could actually comb with it because the bristles are hard enough for very thick hair.Bear in mind, I do add a detangling and leave-in conditioner or dollop of hair cream. I only wash my long hair 1-2X a week. The bristles work best to create shine a few days after washing—it’s fine the day of a wash but even better when it can distribute natural oils.

Pros
  • The Belula Boar Bristle Hair Brush is an eco-friendly option for anyone who wants to reduce their carbon footprint
Cons
  • Not ideal for use on hair that has been damaged by heat or styling products
