The charger works just like the old ones, when my radio needs extra charging this charger shows red. When it needs regular charging, it turns green. It would be nice if the charger would indicate that the radio is charged when my radio is fully charged. hear me loud and clear I've used many other radios that seem to work, difficult to service, dead batteries etc. I've bought extended batteries, not only does the radio's battery last longer, but the extra weight keeps the radio where it needs to be. Thank you for making my radio a pleasant experience.
