Needles are not big enough for heavier upholstery thread
I got this to help me sew a new leather steering wheel cover for my car. 2 issues: 1) The awl won't hold the thick leather-like thread I received separately & 2) This kit, while it could work great, comes wrapped in cheap plastic which makes a real mess when you open it. Definitely worth a few bucks more when it came as a set that had everything in place when opened!
