**3 month update: I haven't had any problems with mine. They suffered falls and abuse from 18-month-old children. I have recorded many times how they learn to speak better. Mine are pretty loud. I tried some others that were flat buttons. I was hoping to attach them to a practice board I made as they are not flat on the back. and it was totally CR4P. The recordings are so static and silent that you can't even use them. I still highly recommend these heart shaped tape recorders. I use them to play with my 18 month old twin granddaughters. I put on "record" and then they say "Nonno" or "Nana" or "I love you". Then I give it back to them to play with. I put them in their overalls and attached a weight belt to their bellies so they would have those hearts on their shirts. They walk around and click on the hearts and they multiply.
