Works very well with a lot of things and much better than cheaper alternatives. Looks like these will last a long time. Thick black foam pads allow the object you're moving to sink slightly and hold it in place as the object slides. I find it best to put a little DOWN pressure on the item being moved to make sure it doesn't slide off the skids. The plastic is strong enough and slides easily on the carpet. The edges of the slides are slightly wavy so these slides even go over the edge of the carpet instead of snagging on door sills etc. I keep a set of four slides in a ziplock gallon freezer bag to keep them together on the fridge. Shelf. Much better performance than I expected!
