Good for an ethernet port and 1 room use, apart from that there are problems.

First, I did some home setup for modems, routers, and wireless devices. I'm not a professional, but I can follow directions when given. This review is based on my needs, the most important being a device with an ethernet port where I could use a sim card from a jetpack. The same need that may have led you to this device. I currently have 2 jetpacks, both on the unlimited package (the plan is only $10 each). The Ethernet port option is the only thing this device is good for, here is what I experienced: * WiFi signal is very weak. If this device is in the same room, that's fine. Move it to the next room. Not so great. My wireless devices picked up my router across the yard in my garage or the one on the lower level of my house in front of it. This is causing my wireless devices to malfunction and everyone knows how annoying that is. I thought I could have 1 internet device upstairs and 1 downstairs. no *Because of the first issue above, I decided to try the Wi-Fi mesh system that is the base. I think I could use it to power all my wireless devices like Revain Fire Sticks, Kindle and Echo devices etc. Note that I usually only have one device running at a time. I just have devices in every room. This didn't work either. The device showed internet signal and connection but intermittently lost connection to the underlying Wi-Fi mesh device. I connected my WiFi module to another router for testing and it worked without any problems. Tell me again that this problem is related to this product. Please note that I have disabled the WiFi signal on this modem as recommended by the manufacturer when using a mesh system. Long story short, if you keep this device in a room dedicated to Wi-Fi and can plug an ethernet cable directly into your device, then you're fine. Anything beyond that is useless. Am I missing something in the setup? Possible, but it requires advanced skills that most users don't have. This device has its advantages, but there are also disadvantages. I hope this helped explain them. You can take what you need.
