About a year ago my laptop died and I foolishly failed to back up my music or personal documents. While most of my music was purchased through the iStore, much more was copied from my CD collection. Copying those files again was tedious and frustrating. I bought this case and was able to recover my files and now I also have an external hard drive to back up my data. Plus, assembly was literally straightforward. I can't figure out how to get the hard drive out of the case (it's very tight, I don't have enough finger strength to properly push into the limited gripping space), but I really can. I can't think of a reason to want to remove it. I will never install this drive in another laptop and a portable drive would be handy. If for some reason the case stops working I will just disassemble it so I can get the drive out and buy a new case (they are pretty cheap). Too bad I didn't know anything about hulls a year ago.
