Review on Finnex FugeRay Planted+ LED Aquarium Light featuring Moonlights by Robin Brinks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

By far the best lamp on the market

So I bought a lot of different aquarium lights during my hobby. Some are cheaper, some more expensive. In my experience the ABSOLUTELY BEST light for a planted aquarium. (If you don't have a tank of plants this light will be overkill and you're just asking about algae blooms. LoL) I entered the prize a while ago and bought a bunch of Finnex lanterns 24/7. But I didn't actually use any of the functions because all my lights are timed and I only ever used the brightest function. smaller clip on Finnex lights to mount another tank that needs extra help. Noticed the difference IMMEDIATELY. The larger existing non-Finnex tank light gave way to a tiny bulb much smaller than the large one I originally installed. My plants immediately started to sprout new shoots. This was a big moment for Facepalm because I kept wondering why my plants grow much slower in this tank than in any other tank. So I bought a Finnex FugeRay to replace another manufacturer's flashlight and boom. Tons of new shoots throughout the aquarium. The brightness and depth of penetration of this light can hardly be surpassed. In my opinion Finnex is the best brand for planted aquariums and I refuse to use anything else. Especially this special light. Love it. I like the easy on/off function. If the power goes out, I don't have to reset the entire timer 24/7. And God forbid you lose the remote control for these things. I haven't had any issues with any of the LED bulbs burning out or dimming. And good waterproofness. (That doesn't mean you can submerge it in water.) I fell into the tank while cleaning it one day, and then the light started failing. But that's to be expected. I don't think it had any bearing on this light's qualification. It is not 100% waterproof but will keep you dry when not submerged in the aquarium. All my aquariums are open top because I have land plants that I tend along with aquatic plants. And this fixture has withstood all the fumes and bursting bubbles over the years. It will forever be my favorite light for planted aquariums. This light works wonders!
