I was debating whether to buy these fenders or Mopar fenders but a visit to the RR website gave me the support I needed . The RR fenders seem to be just as good as the Mopars I've seen. Took about 2 hours to assemble including wheel removal (just do it and don't be nervous). Remember I have air tools to speed up this process. I didn't really like the included Phillips steel screws. I drive daily on both paved and unpaved roads that have been treated with magnesium chloride (not sodium chloride but salt for dust control and de-icing). I believe corrosion of the steel bolts will be a problem in the future as it has been on my other cars. Also, I noticed that everything else in the wheel wells comes with plastic snap-in fasteners from the factory. So instead of screws I used black plastic snaps. Installation was easy - just place each fender in the correct position (it's pretty hard to screw up given how the plastic is molded - you know left to right, front to back and front to back), drill one hole at a time using a bit that matches the diameter of the fastener and press along the way for each fastener. I'm deducting a star at this point as I had to spend extra money on snaps. I don't know if Mopars have plastic latches, but I suspect other rigs I've seen have them. After all, I haven't gotten far enough into this winter with these fenders to see how they hold the weight of frozen slush and make contact with the occasional ledge of snow, but I know dirty doors don't bother me anymore. , doorknobs and windows. At this point I see no need to add footpegs for extra protection. Update: After almost 5 winters here in upstate North Idaho, our fenders are finally showing the ice building up. A back refuses to cling to the plastic clasps and a front is almost entirely cracked in half. However, to be fair, our road is extremely rough and how long can you expect them to hold about 3 pounds of ice in these conditions. I have just added another set to my wish list and will be adding as needed in the future. I couldn't find any material wear and tear from stone chips either. I can't imagine the road conditions with basaltic rock being harder on the fenders than we put them through on a daily basis. Well done Rugged Ridge!
