, I have to say I was quite skeptical as I've spent many hours all my life painstakingly disassembling grenades. I'm ashamed to admit that I've never noticed before that cutting off the crown and base makes it much easier to separate the pomegranate from it. I used to quarter them and then gradually pull them apart, which was messy and gave me a headache. But the real magic happened when I placed the pomegranate half on the grid, covered it, and tapped it with a metal spoon. Within a minute, half had thrown all those little gems into the bowl below. And no splashes! I felt the matrix give way as I hit it. On the second half, and the same experience. Wow! So easy! And the bowl and lid are great storage space in the fridge later. I was really ready to blame myself for throwing money away on a useless gadget, but now I'm really happy! How do people come up with such things? Addendum: instead of a metal spoon I switched to a wooden kitchen mallet, it's MUCH faster and easier! Just a few taps and you're done! I still use it all the time and have greatly upped my pomegranate intake since it's so easy now.
