I bought this to use as a personal stage monitor with one of the bands I currently play in. I first hooked it up to several different audio sources (phone, mp3 player, etc.) for testing and everything seemed fine. The speaker was loud enough and had a decent response. I then hooked it up to my Line6 HD500X and found that the tweeter was making an awful crackle at certain frequencies. I disassembled it, removed the protective cover from the front of the tweeter, put everything back together and found that the noise was reduced to a tolerable level, so I decided to give it a try at the next gig. I connected an XLR cable from another stage monitor to one of the inputs on this one and daisy chained it straight from my HD500X to the other. That too sounded normal for a while, but towards the end of our 4 hour performance I started hearing all sorts of strange noises. On my 2nd show with him the tweeter noise came back during our 2nd set, then other noises came up during the 3rd. At the third gig I unplugged the tweeter and plugged it ONLY into my guitar. It sounded better overall, but by the end of the night it was still starting to get crazy. I think the heatsink isn't big enough to do its job and the whole thing overheats after a few hours. Overall my experience with this speaker is that while it sounds decent it does not hold up to prolonged use and is not suitable as a stage monitor due to tweeter issues. I plan to only use it until I can pick up something else.
