I have been using a Duxtop induction burner for over a year. I fell in love with it as an alternative to the traditional electric range I inherited when I bought the house and which I despise. Since gas would cost $2,000 in my kitchen, portable induction burners seemed like a viable alternative. But since the Duxtop only cooks one pot or pan at a time, I really wish I had an extra burner. It's a great alternative, but to be honest I don't like the burners or controls as much as the Duxtop. The main issue is that Duxtop offers much more tiered cooking, both in terms of power and temperature, which it doesn't. The Duxtop, which I mostly use in power mode, has a 50 power increase, while this one has a 150 power increase, which means the burner is sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold. The temperature is regulated in 40-degree increments, which is why I mostly use this mode; Duxtop temperature settings are adjustable in 20 degree increments. Duxtop also has a warning light if the burner gets hot after use. It only has a printed warning on the burners so you don't really know when it's going to cool down other than by touching it. It's a decent hob, but not of the caliber of the Duxtop. I had a Duxtop 2 burner hob in my shopping cart and it was only marginally more expensive than this. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available anymore. I'll keep an eye on his revival, but for now I'll keep using this one.
