Great for Crested Geckos

I'm new to bioactive environments and this is my second attempt at setting up my aquarium. Last time I used a different substrate and it got moldy within a week and only got worse so I started from scratch and used this substrate instead. I've added some extra charcoal for extra mold protection and odor absorption and so far in two months I haven't had a single mold stain. I haven't moved my crested gecko yet as I've been slowly adding things to the tank so I don't have a mold problem anymore, but I think he'll love it. I planted my three plants a week ago and so far they seem happy. I was worried the soil wouldn't have enough nutrients for them, but so far I haven't seen any signs of sagging. One thing I recommend, and others have recommended as well: bake your soil before using it! I baked on baking sheets, two sheets at a time, at 350 for an hour. This will help kill anything that might be living in the ground that you don't need. Before you put it in the aquarium, let it cool down and moisten it a little so that dust doesn't get everywhere. Your stroller will thank you! If you're not going to get the bug there right away (which you shouldn't, as the plants need time to settle in and take root in the soil before anything can climb on them), try feeding your harvesting team a piece of squash. . Mine was crazy about it, and the more it started to rot, the more I liked it. Happy herpes!
