I really like caramel apples. They're only available in the fall near me. I considered making them myself but was told that the key to a good caramel apple is the right temperature and I didn't have a thermometer. I know that if the candy is too hot or too cold it won't crack or harden, it will get stickier or stickier. I don't like sticky apples so I decided to order this set of cooking thermometers to see if I can cook them. I have to admit I haven't really tried this yet for fear of making a mess and ruining the food, but I've tested both thermometers and they work great! I've used the jar several times to check the temperature in my husband's coffee. He likes to keep it quite hot and I can never tell when it's hot in the pot or just on the bottom. This helps me determine if I need to heat it up or not. While I'm happy with the purchase, sooner or later I'll have the courage to try caramel apples.
