Purchased this to increase the amount of available memory in a used netbook that I recently bought. If you are in doubt about upgrading your Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 from 1GB to 2GB – DO IT NOW! Serious. difference between day and night. I use my netbook as a portable office for my writing business. Before the upgrade, I was able to open my web browser and an MS Office program before things really got stuck. Forget Skype or Spotify or whatever. With 2GB, I can support multiple tabs, Office, Spotify and Skype, all happy with near-zero task switching latency and performance. I'm really sorry that Acer decided to ship their Aspire Ones even with a single 1GB of RAM. 2 GB are almost necessary to use liquid. This memory slotted in and started with no problems. It may have taken 10 minutes to install with a precision screwdriver and help from YouTube. If you are brave, follow the instructions and take your time, even a beginner can retrofit. I've seen several mentions of BIOS issues and black screens after a memory upgrade on an Aspire One. I'm happy to say I've never experienced anything like this, clicked, booted up the netbook and that's it.
