Based on previous 5 star reviews I took a chance and bought this "alkaline jug". I have health problems and the doctor recommended that I use alkaline water. We all know that a bottle of PH9.5 alkaline water costs around $2. Seems like getting a jug would be ideal. I know it's too good to be true. There are many flaws in the product, 1. There is no indication on the box, packaging or instruction manual that it is an "alkaline" filtered jug. No word on what the filter can do to make the water "alkaline." The manual says to use "raw water" all the time. This may fool people, but my overseas research in China immediately tells me that this product wasn't even designed for the US market. "Raw water" means unfiltered water in Chinese.2. The filtered water has hardly changed the PH value and the chlorine taste is still very strong. See photo proof. I've tested with fridge water and tap water, which have a pH of 7. The filter has set a pH value of 8. True alkaline water should have a pH of at least 9. I used test strips and drops. The results are the same. As a result, tap water has a very strong chlorine taste that is hardly drinkable. I live in Atlanta.3. The filter started dripping very slowly the first night and stopped dripping the second day so use it. The photo shows that there are 3 glasses left in the tank, but it does not flow out. I've tried everything but no water comes out. Bottom line: save your money for something else. I will look for the best.
