I used this dock to connect my 2016 Macbook Pro to an Asus monitor. (I also used a 2012 Apple Thunderbolt Display. More on that below.) It keeps all the cables in place at the back of my desk. Two USB ports, a USB-C port and a headphone jack are located on the front of the docking station and are easily accessible when needed. Docking station eliminates the need for USB-C adapters - save money! The docking station requires two USB-C ports on the computer. The MacBook Pro doesn't have this problem because it has four ports. But the Macbook Air only has two. This is an issue if, like me, you want to connect an old (2012) Thunderbolt display. Since it doesn't connect to the dock (there's no way to do that), I had to use a third port for a monitor. A little annoying as it's a different connection each time I unplug it and it requires cables to come out of both ends of the computer. Just a little sloppy. The design is excellent. It's small and neat/organized. Overall I'm very happy with it, although I wish my 2012 display could be connected in addition to my new monitor.
