Can't comment on durability as I've only just installed it. I only need 2 of the 3 floormats for my custom RV (NOBO 19.7) and had to trim them down a bit with regular scissors since my steps are 17 1/2 inches wide. The edges went all the way to the inside string of the stairs and were pretty easy to trim. No frayed edges. At least not yet. Installed when my trailer was in a gravel storage area and it picked up my shoe scraps as I walked into the trailer. Gives the stairs a nice classy look as I don't look at aluminum anymore.
