I use these with an expandable hose that I swap between a spray nozzle and a power washer. The quick connect works fine once you get the hang of the mechanism. There are three ball bearings (green arrow) that hold the male adapter in place (the "seal" is the male end up against the soft plastic gasket in the female end). To decouple, pull middle ring on the female adapter which "frees" the ball bearings and allows the adapters to be separated. To recouple, push the adapters in until the ball bearings "snap" into the ridge on the male adapter.These also work great if you have expandable pocket hose with plastic ends (which is the worst part of those things). Not having to thread stuff off and on plastic threads will prolong the life of these things.The aluminum is fine. brass would be better, but for the price these are more than sufficient.
