Great hook! in Towing Products and Winches

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write about my personal experience for people interested in a combination weight distribution hitch with sway control for light to moderate recreational use. I originally bought a trunnion weight distribution clutch with a friction mount to control sway. He worked normally and got his job done; Installation was cumbersome, however, as the hitch weight was at least 90 pounds and the turning radius was limited. So when you need to exit the freeway or reverse, the pivot lever had to be disconnected to prevent braking. On the freeway it was still a bit of a wobble when a trailer went by, but it was especially important when I was behind the trailer. Now safety always comes first, so I was constantly looking for a system that could help me better control my car and trailer. So when I found out about the Anderson clutch I did a thorough research before deciding to buy it. A little about how I use the hitch: I have a 2013 F-150 that I use to tow a 29 foot RV with a dry weight of 6100. The first trip I used the hitch on was a 430 mile trip from North Carolina to northern Maryland. Throughout the ride, we had no issues with crosswinds or passing vehicles causing sway. We've gotten stuck behind quite a few trailers, and as anyone who hauls trucks knows, trailer traction can have a significant impact when you're behind. However, not once did I feel like I needed to come out short of the semifinals because of the vacillation. Regarding connection and alignment; This is very easy once you have installed it following the instructions. Adjustments are easily made by tightening the nuts on the chain until the red springs are compressed at least 1/4" or until the truck and trailer are level. It does not need to be removed when reversing, and you can make tight turns if necessary drive as the entire system is connected to the hitch and ball assembly. The best part is that it weighs no more than 40lbs, making it easy to remove. The lightweight design also helps reduce payload so you can carry more being able to carry cargo in your vehicle Overall I am very happy I switched to the Anderson hitch and I hope others have the same experience as me.
