The sound quality is very good. I will say that it is similar to my gun mic (Sony brand for the A6000) but is good overall. Easy to install and use with detailed instructions. The batteries seemed to run out pretty quickly, but I may have just left them on for too long between shots. I also had trouble setting up the lav mics because it seems you want a TRS audio jack instead of the most commonly sold TRRS. If you want to use 2 Lava mics at the same time, you MUST buy TRS mics.
