Excellent cost savings, there are practically no downsides.
The hinges themselves are of good quality, work properly. The only drawback compared to the more expensive versions from the big box/hardware store is the quality of the screws - the tips are only painted black to match the loop, not completely covered and therefore scratch easily. After all, these are hinges and they work great for a fraction of the price you would pay anywhere else.
