I DIDN'T MAKE THE ELF ON THE SHELF. I didn't have an elf on the shelf when I was little or when I had my first child who is now 18, so I didn't want to start this tradition for my 3 year old. BUT I couldn't help but do it because she has friends who have pixies and she's seen videos of kids with their pixies! At the very last moment I bought this elf and it arrived on November 30th. at 9:00 p.m. Ideal to start the next day, December 1st. My daughter LOVES her Santa's elf who was sent to look after her and tell Santa if she's naughty or cute. I don't know the exact history of EOS, but I know it bit by bit and I'm making my own version. She was happy to name her elf Jolly Jingles. The elf leaves her a little note every day to say hello and remind her to be polite to everyone she sees. I love the elf around him in different places like the others but if I forget to do this before she wakes up it's ok she will move sometime before the end of the night attached to her note. see a few pictures, the elf girl looks exactly as described. It comes with velcro but also has a seam so it won't come loose or get lost unless you want to fasten it to take the skirt off. The elf girl also has cute earrings in her ears. The elf's arms are attached as shown above, I chose to attach them to make it easier to do different things with the elf. Very easy to cut without damaging the elf.
