No downsides yet. I ate it right away, even though I already had an open bottle of wine. Worked great without much effort. With my left hand I grab the body of the corkscrew and with the same hand I grab the cap of the stationary bottle on the counter. Then I press the big button at the bottom until it stops. I remove the tool and press the button at the top to release the stopper. EASY-PEASY!UPDATE: I LOVE THIS PRODUCT BUT I APPRECIATE "NO FOLLOW-UP" FOR ONE OF THE THREE BONUS POINTS OFFERED FOR LEAVEING A REVIEW. I regularly leave reviews when asked but I haven't heard about the BONUS OFFER after leaving 3 reviews just to make sure they are registered and I'm disappointed in the FAKE. :-((
