Works pretty well - holds up to repeated use over time

I have a computer at my job where I pound away at it for the better part of 40 hours a week, and so far, the key labels I applied (on a black plastic "ergo" US keyboard that had several of the white letters rubbed off from use) have remained. They have endured for months and shown no signs of slippage or wear. The environment is a bit dusty but other than at first some "lint" adhering to the edges of some of the keys (these are "ergo" keys so they are not perfectly flat like some keyboards). At first glance they were a perfect match. If you look closely you will see that the "new" keys have a slightly larger font and if you feel them with your fingertips or glance at the keyboard up to the light you can see that it has more of a "textured" surface than the originals (that began as matte and then became "shiny" with use). So this is a perfectly functional solution to a well worn black keyboard, but if you really want a "perfect" fit you should look elsewhere. I did not care that much about having the letters match absolutely, so I didn't bother to put all the key labels on there, just the ones that had rubbed off. Not every possible key label was included, and some of the larger keys (like shift) were not full size, but sufficient to cover the surface. I wish I could find one of these that was transparent or off-white for my other keyboards, but it seems the standard black-with-white-label keyboards are notorious for wearing off. My keyboards at home that I use primarily for gaming have the same issue.

Pros
  • Large lettering makes it perfect for those with visual impairments
Cons
  • Could increase eye strain with high contrast design
