I bought these for my 15 month old grandson who is addicted to my Russian nesting dolls. I was concerned about getting the paint in his mouth or getting broken pieces (he's pretty strict about toys), so I looked for a kid-friendly solution at a reasonable price. These adorable little penguins were just what he needed: he likes big eyes and enough to keep him busy trying to match individual birds and then nesting them. I don't expect them to last forever, but for now they're perfectly sturdy and cuddly for his fat little hands, with plenty of room for developing dexterity and fine motor skills.
