Update 11/21/2020 - with daily use one AA battery lasts four months. However, it took me a while to finally get used to the small overall size, but I'm impressed with how well it compares to other wireless laser mice I've had. otherwise no issues or issues other than the batteries dying quicker than expected. My last mouse was a wireless gaming mouse that I bought for precision CAD work, not gaming. This mouse has a more precise laser mechanism than any I've used before. everything works great absolutely no complaints except for one, the size. As I said mechanically, this is a fantastic mouse! However, I was very surprised when I first received it as it was so small in the palm of my hand. In over two decades I have never held a smaller mouse in my hands. It's awkward to use for people like me with medium-sized hands. This would be great for kids or anyone with below average hands. Stay away if you have big hands. Too bad what works so well "under the hood" negatively impacts the rest of the design team, which greatly affects the size of this mouse. I've been using it for a month now and I'm getting used to it. If it doesn't work that well I wouldn't hesitate to turn it in and get another one, but it works. So I'll keep using it, but I'm disappointed that a company like Microsoft will release it as is. Bottom line, as far as functionality goes, I couldn't hope for the best. As for size and comfort in hand, someone is completely confused with its odd small size. I can only recommend this for people with small hands. for the rest of us? some will succeed, some will not. So I only partially recommend it and the only reason I didn't give it five stars.
