Nice towel; clear ribbons, very large but not too heavy, absorbent, well made.

This is a beautiful extra large beach/pool towel. I only have a few towels this size and they are a great size for adults to lay out in the sun. I ordered a navy and aqua towel and the colors are beautiful: bright and fresh. The towel is quite heavy, but when it arrived it didn't seem too thick, but after the first wash it bunched up a lot. I washed it in cold water/gentle cycle, then tumble dried for a few minutes and then let it dry on a clothes line (it's too hot here to dry for very long). There was no shrinkage, no fading, no bleeding between strips, but there was what I find to be an acceptable amount of lint. I prefer a heavier bath towel, but the 630gsm used here seems like a good weight for this type of towel as the heavier fabric used for this size towel (very large 40" x 70") may is too big. difficult to handle and takes too long to dry on the beach. I remember when my kids were little it wasn't a problem to carry all the towels and stuff to the beach but carrying them wet, wet and heavy back to the car was agony! The fabric isn't as plush as I expected, but it's a very good quality, feels nice and is soft - velor texture on one side and terry loops on the other. The loops on the terry side are long and quite close together, and the towel absorbs moisture well. The sides are hemmed with a double row of stitches to prevent fraying and the ends are neatly bound with flat cotton edges. The current price of $29.99 for just one towel seems a bit steep, but it's well made and good quality + it's larger and heavier than most beach towels at 630gsm. The towel is made in India from Turkish cotton.
