I mainly shoot film and have a lot of manual Nikon prime lenses. So I wanted a camera that would work like a handheld camera. So before that I tried the X-Pro 2 and I really liked this camera. It felt perfectly in my hands and was a lot of fun to photograph. However, I was never really satisfied with the pictures. They came out flat and the JPEG colors looked a bit cartoonish. I felt the same way with the X100S. I think this camera is the complete opposite. Doesn't feel very good in the hand. It looks kinda cheap empty and plastic - like very hard plastic. The top and bottom metal plates look weird with such cheap plastic in between. I bought a third grip for it and it makes a big difference in terms of ergonomics! It really feels like a better camera and a lot more solid, with a grip that gives it some weight. The pictures she takes are AMAZING. The colors are perfect and the photographs have a depth and vibrancy rarely seen outside of film. This is the first digital camera where I've been as happy with the image quality as with film. I've only used x100s, Xpro2, d750, d810 and Canon EOS 5d m3 but these images beat them. All other cameras are great, but they just really shoot. This camera does something different. It adds some magic to the camera. There's a little more popularity in the pictures, a little more life. I feel like standard J-Pegs are very similar to Portra 400, one of my favorite color films. I've also seen them reminiscent of Kodachrome when shot with lenses that are way better than my own! At first I wasn't sure if I would keep it because of the looks, but I really fell in love with shooting with this camera. I definitely recommend the handle from the third part. I wouldn't worry about it being "only" 16MP either. I enlarged some of these photos greatly. Megapixels aren't the only thing that applies to poster-size prints, if that's what you really want. when shot with lenses much better than my own!
