Everything turned out great on my puzzle. I smeared the material with a brush and smoothed it out with a plastic scraper (from the dollar store). Run the scraper lightly over a piece of sandpaper beforehand to tap off small edges and avoid streaks. Used wax paper under the puzzle, it worked out fine. Try laying out the wax paper behind the edges of the puzzle to collect scraped material. Have paper towels and water on hand to clean up any mess before it dries. I painted the front once and the back once with just a brush. My puzzle looks beautiful. The matte finish of this product looks very nice.
