Review on Capri Tools 20 245 Torque Wrench by Mark Jefferson

This is a good value for money product. I took the wrench to the calibration lab we have at work and verified that the wrench was within 3% of the set value at all the points I tested. At this price you don't get a finely machined tool - when you adjust the wrench you can feel the outer tube rubbing against the inner tube, and when you return the wrench to the lowest position the knob tends to loosen. from the end of the female thread part, but easily unscrews. The end doesn't fall off, it just separates and hangs freely on the internal spring, but doesn't cause any noticeable damage. Note to people who have indicated that they have overtightened parts with this wrench, it does not produce a distinct click like foot pound wrenches, it is more of a "break" than a click. If you're new to tightening, find a large screw on your car that you can't break and start with the middle position of the wrench - these types of tools work best in the middle position. Tighten the large screw until you feel "break" and what it actually sounds like. Try it now with lower settings. At the lowest setting of this tool, you barely tighten the fastener and the breakage is harder to see. I regularly use torque tools at work and find these to be a good tool to have at home if you are on a budget. Don't expect this to be a perfectly polished tool, but if you want something functional at an affordable price, this tool comes highly recommended.
