Inexpensive design, very large screw tolerances
Very cheap design and the bolt and nut tolerances were so tight that it was impossible to tighten the clamp on a 1.5" workpiece. Once the clamp started to grab, the bolt just slipped through the nut, making it impossible to hold anything in place. By simply wiggling part of the bolt, you could thread the bolt through the nut without the bolt to turn at all.
