We have a few Mellisa and Doug products that made me make this purchase. My son has other versions of the puzzles and really likes them. However, when my son played with this puzzle set, he accidentally started crying. Looking closely at the pieces, I noticed many splinters sticking out from the sides of the puzzle pieces. If you buy this product, please check it before giving it to a child.
