I gave this anvil 4 stars because I assume you know it's not a smaller version of the $2000 anvil. 4 stars for a cheap anvil because I expected a cheap anvil and got a little more than I expected. I've been using it for 2 months now and it works fine. The face isn't quite stained yet, but keep your hammer on your steel. It was a few pounds lighter than the '88, but I don't really mind. There are some gaps that have been filled, but not in critical areas. You need to tidy up the edges around the face. It takes an hour to do a good job. I liked the shape of the face. I would happily buy another one if needed.
