I had never heard of Spear Head wiper blades before but the reviews were positive and the price was right. I thought I'd give them a chance. I have tried many regular wiper blades with varying degrees of efficiency in the past. Some were terrible right out of the box. I think I only had one great pair of blades prior to this purchase. Thankfully, the spearheads are at least as good as those excellent blades. I moved south just before I bought them, so they've seen a lot of interesting weather over the last two years. Here's my breakdown. Installation: It's been a while since I installed them but I remember getting a little frustrated trying to get one of the blades to snap into the wiper arm. I just couldn't get it to click. I latched it as best I could and flipped back the plastic latch. It seemed pretty cozy, so I let it go. Two years later they haven't moved. Other reviews have complained of similar issues, with some people actually losing the blade during use. It wasn't a problem for me. If the installation turns out to be a problem, they provide their email address for customer support. I wasn't trying to get through. 4/5 Efficiency: The Japanese tires on it are no joke. It creates an eerie seal against the glass. They wiped the rain off without leaving a streak. They're like professional window cleaners in a downtown office block. And they are quiet too. The minus is twofold. The fit to the glass is almost too good. I once accidentally left the wipers on after the rain stopped. The wipers rattled against the dry glass, loosening the screw holding one of the wiper arms. It was an easy fix, but now I know the condition of the glass very well. Another problem is that every nook and cranny in the wiper design seems to provide places for water to collect. When the wiper blade returns to its original position, a small amount of water often gets on the glass. It's pretty minor but noticeable. Despite these issues, these are probably the most durable wiper blades I've ever used. They lasted a full two years before performance flagged. 4.5/5Value: This is an easy win. The quality of the blades combined with their durability makes them a bargain at around $25 a pair. 5/5 If you don't mind adding some elbow grease to snap them in, I would definitely try these wiper blades. Really great product at a great price.
