Review on Sonos Beam Smart Amazon Built by Monica West

First off, as a professional musician with very picky ears, I have to say that Sonos REALLY knows how to make a great sounding speaker. Yes they are expensive but you really do get what you pay for. I have already bought two Sonos One speakers for music and I really like them. For my TV sound, I had a full 5.1 system with AV receiver, subwoofer, front, rear and center speakers. LOTS of stuff takes up LOTS of space. The sound was amazing but I have a small apartment and it was too big for the space. I was able to eliminate everything with this little beam speaker. I've paired it with two Sonos One speakers and the surround sound is almost as good as my previous 5.1 system. I am happy about this change. No, the bass isn't as punchy as my huge 12" Velodyne subwoofer, but it's definitely enough for my room. good clearances to my left and right at the corners of the room. IMPORTANT thing that I do too What I learned was that in Sonos settings you can adjust the room settings so that the TV and music use the speakers differently.When I played music after I added Beam, it used the same surround split as the TV, which Default setting.I really missed the full, deep music sound I had when I only had two Sonos Ones, as the TV's audio automatically focuses on the Beam Front speakers.I'm on the "Ambient" surround setting for Pushed the room where you can set it up for TV and music separately. I adjusted the balance for the music so it's coming mostly out of the Sonos One's speakers again. E ureka! Big full beautiful music sound again. The speakers know when I turn on the TV to use full surround sound, but when I turn on music it uses the music setting to continue using the Sonos One. LOVE IT! I can't say enough about how amazing these speakers sound. I LOVE how little space they take up, but what a BIG and full sound. Highly recommended!
