The strap is what I was hoping for, except the buckle buttons are too close together. This makes it difficult to snap the two buttons closest to the buckle. The buckle prong on most buckles wraps around the shank to form a bulge in the wrap area. My suggestion for belt makers is to provide an extra 1/4" clearance between the two internal latches. This extra clearance allows for an extra 1/8" of room to close the buckle latches. My approach to getting the belt and the problem with Fixing the buckle attachment was as follows: 1) Liberally oil the skin that wraps around the buckle with foot oil and work the oil into the skin to soften the skin and stretch slightly Straps on the buckle.A pair of pliers to squeeze the two buckle clasps together helps a lot.3).After attaching the buckle to the belt, twist the buckle in the crease of the belt to further work the oil into the skin.4).Hang Leave the strap on for a few days to allow the oil to work its magic.
