Review on EatSmart Precision Bathroom Ultra Wide Platform by Darlene Blair

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stay balanced.

To combat the less flattering effects of age, I've been following a low-carb, high-fat diet for the past seven weeks. As an engineer, I need data and graphs, so I track my progress on my trusty 12-year-old Taylor digital device. In short, all good news, so far I've lost 15 pounds. A week ago I went to the doctor for my annual blood test and physical exam. And now I'm a good five kilos *lighter* on the office scales than at home! A long-awaited result, that's true, but amazing. My faithful Taylor is clearly not as faithful as I thought. I tried weighing in other places and found the result is the same, I was lied to. After a quick search on Revain I settled on the Eatsmart Precision Plus scale to replace the disgraced Taylor. It arrived very carefully packaged with styrofoam corner supports in easy to remove packaging. The batteries included in the kit were inserted immediately and the subsequent test reproduced the results found everywhere. The device itself is massive and elegant. let me explain. The surface you are standing on is glass with two silver inlays on the sides. The available legroom is very comfortable, even for a 6ft 1in guy like me. There is no feeling of having to balance on the scales. That's the big part. It's slim in the sense that the clear glass top, metal side panels and overall thinness of the device make for an appealing look when placed on the floor. He is, he's comfortable, he's attractive, but he "doesn't interfere". I really appreciate the clean design. However, scales are not bought for their looks, they are bought to weigh themselves. In that regard, the Eatsmart Precision Plus performs as well as it sounds. I checked the scale with the doctors, it agrees with their findings. Reweighing shows no change in value. The device calibrates itself the first time you use it, and no special pressure or touch is required to turn it on. The numbers are big, clear and beautifully highlighted in blue. The weight display flashes when fully determined and then stays on for an appropriate period of time even after stepping off the scale. All in all a great purchase and good features.

Pros
  • Helpful Hints: Calibration is required for first use. After installing the batteries, place the scale on a carpet-free floor, press the scale to turn it on, and allow it to turn off. Follow this advice if the scale has been moved. We recommend that you weigh yourself and wear the same clothing at the same time for best results. Please note that weight can vary throughout the day.
