Very sturdy. . . I just can't figure out how to use it!

I can't seem to find anyone to show me what I am doing wrong. I must be threading it incorrectly. I cannot cut the tape without pushing the teeth forward with my other hand. But this is my issue, not the tape gun. Just needs better instructions I guess.
