I received a very large medium.
Although the tag says medium, it will probably fit my partner as a large size. This is a very roomy carrier. I already threw away the package so it will be part of his Christmas present. I hope he doesn't mind a very draped fit. If the person is thin, I recommend ordering one size smaller.
