Doesn't get hot like a human heating pad. I think it shouldn't be for animals. It's about as warm as if a cat had lain on a fluffy object for an hour. I always thought it would be warmer because my cat sits in front of the heater as long as I leave it on. Quality made, soft, the cord is well protected. There is a zipper at the end for detaching and washing. This is a very good heating pad and the temperature control is impressive. I will come back to add to my review. My cat has now noticed how warm the heating pad is and doesn't want to take it off. I'm relieved because her feet and ears were cold the whole time and I had to try to keep her covered. she is frozen This heating pad is worth the money and at a good price! I would recommend it. I add my review. All my cats have discovered it and use it. It was a wise purchase, especially if you keep your house very cool.
