I like that I have extra space to store my project even after laying a few strands on the floor. Once I've used up my skeins I have plenty of room as my project grows in size. I have a separate smaller bag for crochet etc, but I ordered this bag when I realized I needed something to store my projects, especially when taking my crochet to other places. I don't care about the design of the outside pockets, because it just doesn't look like it. how much it holds. I have at least 14 traditional crochet hooks plus a few Tunisian crochet hooks along with other craft tools so I keep my two bags together as they work better for me that way. But back to that big bag, there are four places to pull the yarn through. I wish they were made with metal grommets because I didn't feel like there could be any damage (the material the yarn goes through looks like it would tear or rip easily). It's very easy. A shoulder strap is included, but I didn't have to use it. It would be nice to have at least two large zippered pockets and maybe an extra large pocket for some crochet patterns (paperbacks) but I don't know if it's possible. Either that or the height of the bag will be increased so that a person can simply insert them along the inside of the bag to close the lid. As an additional recommendation, you can also provide a place for a person to leave a copy of their ID, especially if they are going to travel.
