This is a great tool for chopping foods like ground beef during cooking or guacamole, canned tomatoes, any soft foods that you need to separate. This tool is hard and sharp enough to cut through soft foods. I like that this tool is one piece, there are no seams to eventually fall apart or trap food debris and bacteria. I also like that the handle is a bit longer than others like my OXO. It's heat resistant but I wouldn't leave it warm for long, I work fast to avoid damage but so far it seems to be quite resilient. Non-stick pans or bowls will not be damaged. Great tool, I recommend
