Works surprisingly well, the price is right.

Yes! Works great with a 12" MacBook using the power cord used with a Cat 6 network cable - very high speed for online video, works with a USB DVD player and other connected devices. I love the rose gold color combination. Worth the money, will buy again and buy for gifts 🤗 Be sure to read all instructions. Use as a powered hub for DVDs and connected hard drives (timeline backup).
