While Franklin may not be the biggest seller of swirl cooker poppers, it's clear that their goal is to make a superior product that addresses some of the complaints and defects eliminated (gear damage, clip problems) of another well-known brand. The metal gears and sturdy clips on this Franklin popper work well and appear to be built for years of use. The first batch of popcorn was good, but with each successive batch we adjusted the heat/oil/popcorn/salt levels and now we get excellent popcorn every time. And the smell it gives off is noticeably different from microwave popcorn. It looks more like a cinema lobby. Cleaning is quick and easy. Simply wipe the pot and lid with a paper towel and you're done. Very happy with the quality and features of this popper.
