This case is thicker than hard plastic cases. This is about 3/4 inch compared to about 1/2 inch for the Moto hard case including the tablet. What I like is that the edges of the case are raised so my thumb doesn't accidentally touch the screen when holding the tablet. The horizontal position takes some getting used to. First of all, it cannot be easily folded close to the tablet, so the stand is not stable. It's a bit loose so it folds where it's supposed to be for a stable stand. I mainly use my tablet for reading and this case fits my hand well.
