For the price, this is a great little mount for small to medium sized displays. The gas spring is smooth and works very well, keeping the display at the right height, nice surprise, I wasn't expecting this quality for the price I paid. It should be noted that the mounting plate itself is slightly larger than most VESA mounts. If you have a display with a recessed mounting plate (LG display pictured, VESA mounting plate adapter sold separately although I couldn't find one) you'll need to do quite a bit of powder coating and steel filing to get it to fit. This is not an issue with the product itself, it is a display that is not VESA compliant (actually it would be if they sold a mounting plate adapter) so I would give it 5 stars but be aware of the slightly larger mounting its plate size if you have a display with a recessed mounting plate and no adapter. The image of steel filings is on a piece of paper the size of a letter, but that's not all. but i had to sweat a bit and take the file to dge's email to make it fit.
