Review on Aquagear Water Filter Replacement Pitcher by Mark Estrada

Update September 2019 Have been using this jug for over 2 years. Replacement filters seem to last for shorter periods of time. Just drinking clean water is getting very expensive. The quality of the filter is exceptional, but PLEASE Aquagear is developing a filter that can run for more than 2 months without a full shutdown. It goes from fast filtering to barely a drop in 1-3 days once it slows down. Strong drop. I stubbornly use a device that's supposed to clean the filter to no avail (never worked for me). -- The filter that came with my Aqua Gear pitcher lasted much longer than this replacement. It works like a dream for a few weeks and then almost stops filtering. I live in Brooklyn so I might have to filter a massive amount of trash out of the water, but it seems crazy to spend $50 on a new one so often. I wish it would work much longer. However, when it filters the water, the taste, clarity and quality are pretty evident. I can't even drink from the tap anymore since I realized how delicious this stuff CAN be. So buy it, but be prepared to make regular investments to replace it. Another note: the company will send you a recycling bag for old filters, so don't throw them away.
