The blades are quite sharp and last a long time (I've used them for linocuts) and the sharpening block is effective. They are comfortable to hold and have a wide range of different types of tips. I like that they have a first aid kit. The case is also beautiful and durable. The only problem I had was that the nibs don't stick well and I've had some nibs that just fell out of the pen as soon as I used them. I can stick them back on but I'm still not happy about it. All in all a very good set for beginners like me. My engraving professor liked it so much as a student kit that he asked for a link to share with his future students.
